The organization has developed the Ornavik historical park since 2011.

Ornavik is a crazy project based on the reconstruction of medieval Normandy from the X and XI century. It is a place to discover the history of Normandy’s birth with a Carolingian village, a Viking area and even a motte and Baily Castle.

Come and experience the Norman history surrounded by our merchants, warriors and craftsmen.

Ornavik aims to set up the first Viking history center in Europe by 2021.  It will then become an important national tourist site and a place not to be missed when visiting Normandy. Besides, Ornavik is the only French site that is a member of Destination Viking Association[1] that lists the most important Viking sites worldwide.

Ornavik keeps strong relationships with many Europeans partners in order to share knowledge acquired during archaeological excavations. It also gives a European dimension to the Ornavik project.

Thanks to the many visitors (more than 30,000 from 2011 to 2017) who have given their support to the park since its opening, we can now say that this unique and unifying experience is significant for understanding the history of the birth of Normandy.

It is above all a human adventure that directly involves the people of Normandy.  The park would not exist without the commitment and support of the 180 or more volunteers.

Partnerships with local partners and corporate sponsors that are associated with the project to make it viable are also proof of its importance for the region.
